🥾 About This Trail

The Forest Bathing Trail at Singapore Botanic Gardens is designed for mindful nature immersion, offering a quiet pathway located away from crowded areas alongside a gentle stream. The trail features thoughtfully placed sensory prompts that invite visitors to engage with their surroundings through sight, sound, touch, and smell. This wheelchair-accessible route concludes with comfortable rest points and amenities, providing an experience that encourages visitors to slow down and reconnect with the natural environment.

The Saraca Stream is located near the Tanglin entrance and remains an important highlight of the Heritage Core section, contributing to the garden’s biodiversity and serene atmosphere. It is a popular trail for leisure walks and nature observation, offering habitat for many tropical plant species and a tranquil retreat from urban life, representing both a natural and historical landmark within the Singapore Botanic Gardens, tying together ecological significance and landscape heritage.

The Singapore Botanic Gardens has evolved over 160 years, from a colonial botanical institution into a world-renowned conservation and research facility. It has expanded to encompass 82 hectares and preserves a precious primary rainforest. The Gardens earned recognition as Singapore’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2015 for its outstanding universal value in demonstrating the evolution of a tropical botanic garden and its role in advancing botanical science and conservation in Southeast Asia.
