Who it's for
This training is for certified Forest Therapy Guides who are ready to expand their practice beyond guiding walks and into the curation of trails, spaces, and places.
It is especially for guides who want to:
bring their forest therapy lens into collaboration with land managers and organizations learn how to see and assess landscapes through the lens of relational forest therapy
curate spaces that invite sensory engagement, pause, curiosity, and connection expand their professional offerings beyond guided walks
contribute to the growing global network of places intentionally supporting Forest Therapy
You already know how to guide connection. This training teaches you how to bring that same awareness to the places where connection unfolds.
What you'll experience
This is practical, hands-on training designed to move you from learning into application.
Throughout the course, you’ll learn how to:
assess trails, spaces, and places for their potential to support Forest Therapy evaluate ecosystem health, safety, infrastructure, ease of access, design, and management
identify opportunities for sensory engagement, pause, gathering, and deeper relationship with the land
collaborate with land managers and help them see their landscapes through a new lens
develop thoughtful recommendations that balance accessibility, ecological integrity, and experience curate guided, self-guided, and hybrid Forest Therapy experiences
develop invitational signage and self-guided materials
navigate the ANFT certification process from initial assessment through final designation
You’ll also complete a site assessment, recommendations, and proposal that can become the beginning of your own consulting portfolio.
What makes this different
As a Forest Therapy Guide, you already understand how pace, sensory awareness, invitation, and the character of a landscape can influence an experience. This training teaches you to apply that understanding at the scale of the place itself.
You’ll learn to recognize what is already present in a landscape and consider what might deepen the invitation: a place to pause, a different route, greater ease of access, a gathering space, thoughtful signage, or sometimes simply allowing the land to do what it already does beautifully.
The goal isn’t to impose a Forest Therapy experience onto a landscape. It is to work collaboratively with land managers and the unique character of each place to create the conditions where connection can happen.
