Who it's for
This course is for anyone who is seeking to deepen their relationship with the natural world around them. At its origin lies a practice that is designed to be accessible to all bodies and all ages. We have guided burned-out executives and grieving parents, skeptical teenagers dragged along by their families, and therapists looking for something to offer their own clients. One thing we witness over and over again is how the forest meets everyone in its own unique way. If there is a part of you that is curious about where this practice might lead you, this course might be a good place to start.
This course tends to find:
Those that are feeling burned-out who have tried different ways of resting and restoring and are feeling a deep longing for the kind of rest that only nature can offer.
Those who are feeling grief and that have found solace in the natural world.
Those that are seeking for meaning and purpose and that are simply looking for space and the possibility of deepening their relationship with themselves and the natural world
The healthcare professionals that are looking to add more tools to their tool box and are curious how Forest Bathing can support their patients and clients.
Those that are curious about what this practice is and what it offers beyond their existing experience of being out in the natural world.

What makes this different
Most introductions to nature and wellbeing ask you to add something to your life. This course asks the opposite of you. It asks you to slow down, not add on.
Forest bathing isn’t hiking with a mindfulness filter laid over it. And it isn’t simply unstructured time outdoors, however lovely that time might be. It is its own unique practice and relationship with the forest, with a structure beneath it: the ANFT Standard Sequence. Inspired by Shinrin-Yoku, and shaped by depth psychology, wilderness quest traditions, and embodied meditation practices, this sequence has been refined and re-refined by thousands of guided walks, by guides who were listening deeply to the forest, to themselves and to each other.
You will learn about the structure and, most importantly, you will experience it, through your senses. By slowing down and listening to what is alive in you.
