First Steps Into the Forest
A four-day gathering. A council with the more-than-human world
Your first step into the world of Forest Therapy
A short, guided introduction to Forest Bathing. A practice of slowing down enough to actually be present to the world around you. Across six lessons, you’ll learn why your body has been asking for this, what the research shows, and take yourself on your first guided walk in nature.

Who it's for
This course is for anyone who has been feeling tired and disconnected and is longing to connect with the natural world. You don’t need any previous experience in nature connection practices or meditation. You don’t need to be fit, or flexible, or naturally “outdoorsy.” You just need somewhere outside to wander about, and about twenty minutes to give it.
This course is for you if:
– You’re carrying a low-grade exhaustion that doesn’t have an obvious cause
– You spend most of your time indoors, on screens, or moving faster than feels good
– You’re curious about forest bathing but have never tried it
– You want a real, guided experience — not just an article explaining the idea
– You’re wondering whether this practice might be worth going deeper into
What you'll experience
An honest look at why so many of us are walking around flat, wired, and disconnected and why that isn’t something wrong with us.
A clear, gentle walk through the science of forest bathing describing what phytoncides actually are, what happens in your nervous system, and what your body does, physiologically, when it’s in a natural setting.
Your first guided forest bathing walk. A recorded audio experience, about twenty minutes long, that you take outside in your garden, your backyard, a local park or a forest.
Space afterward to notice what happened for you . You will listen to a conversation between ANFT founder Amos Clifford and ANFT trainer Geeta Stilwell, unpacking what you felt and why.
A few gentle journal prompts to help you sit with what came up, at your own pace, in your own words
What makes this different
Most introductions to forest bathing tell you about it. This one takes you through it. Rather than describing the practice from a distance, the course gives you a real guided walk, recorded with the same pacing and pauses you’d experience on an in-person walk. You are not just learning a concept, you’re having an experience your nervous system can actually recognise and respond to. There is information about the science of the practice as well. You will be invited to slow down and experience the natural world around you in a way that is possibly new.
