Retreat

Our home for the week is a riverside lodge in the Amazonas, reached by a scenic road-and-boat journey from Manaus. Thatched-roof bungalows and rooms open onto the water, a floating deck invites you to swim and rest, and meals gather everyone in an open dining hall with the forest at the windows.

DAY 1
Arrival & Opening Circle
A scenic journey by road and boat carries you from Manaus into the forest. Settle into your riverside room, then gather for a welcome circle to meet your companions and the land. As evening falls, a gentle canoe outing introduces you to the river — watch for birds, sloths, and the pink dolphins that surface in these waters — before a first night of moving with nature.

DAY 2
Into the Forest
The day opens with a morning check-in and a forest therapy walk at the venue. In the afternoon a local guide leads a silent walk, sharing the small wonders of Amazon biodiversity. After dark, a deep guided meditation settles you into relationship with the land.

DAY 3
The Queen of the Forest
This morning we walk to the Samaúma — the kapok, the “queen of the forest” — a towering elder whose buttress roots rise higher than a person, and hold a forest therapy walk in her presence. The afternoon deepens the senses in pairs and small groups, closing with sunset and circle; the night wakes the senses on the water, with caiman glinting in the dark.

DAY 4
Sunrise, Community & a Choice
Before dawn, a canoe glides out to greet the sunrise and the waking birds. Later, a visit to riverside and Indigenous communities offers a window into their customs and way of life. Then you choose your evening: Rewilding — a safe overnight camp in the forest, dinner cooked over the fire and served in banana leaves, stories beneath the stars, sleeping in hammocks — or a Canoe journey across the lakes, exploring the senses through water, returning to the lodge for the night.

DAY 5
Reciprocity & Farewell
A closing practice of reciprocity to the land and a final circle gather the week together. After lunch, the boats carry you back toward Manaus, arriving mid-afternoon and carrying the forest with you.

Come prepared
Ahead of the retreat we’ll send a simple guide: what to wear, what to pack, and the vaccinations recommended before traveling to the region. Nothing exotic — just the sensible preparations that let you relax once you arrive.

Extend your journey
Traveling this far, you may wish to linger. The lodge offers optional add-ons for longer stays:

- Piranha fishing
- Pink river dolphin watching
- Visit to a caboclo (riverine) home
- The Orchidarium
- A rubber-tapper’s house
- Victoria Amazonica water-lily lake
- Photo safari
- Jungle survival tour
- And a note for dreamers: Brazil’s Carnival falls the week before, for anyone hoping to make a longer journey of it.
