👤 Guide Details

Hi, I am Kathy Holcomb I have lived in Ketchikan Alaska for over 34 years. From the day I arrived I knew I had found my home and where I belonged. I have spent my free time out in the wilderness, learning about the animals, trees, gathering wild berries, harvesting plants and seafood. I have learned to live and be in harmony with nature from the start of herring egg season in the spring to harvesting fish and berries for the winter. I received my Forest Therapy Guide Certification in November of 2019. I also hold a A.A.S in Fisheries from the University of Alaska.  I have worked for over 20 years in a lab testing water. Living in a temperate rain forest is a blessing. We get on average 13 feet of rain a year.  I have developed a deep connection with the forest and nature over the years. I am now at I point in life where I would like to share the experience with others by offering others an experience and connection with nature.
