Margaret Hansen

Margaret Hansen is a committed researcher, educator and writer. She is a Professor Emerita from the University of San Francisco, School of Nursing, and has a rich background as a nurse educator for 26 years before she retired in 2018. Since 2018, she has continued to research and write publications regarding the Japanese practice of shinrin-yoku (forest bathing) and nature therapy. Currently, she is writing a book proposal regarding the health benefits (mind, body, spirit) related to nature therapy. She is passionate about learning, traveling and sharing her knowledge regarding nature therapy.

Margaret is excited to begin her ANFT training at the end of January 2025. Currently, she lives on Bainbridge Island, Washington and loves to walk in the forests near her home daily with her yellow-Labrador, Soley. Together they reap the health benefits of nature therapy and also enjoy hiking the mountains of the Pacific North West.
