Laura Allen

Laura Allen is a Professor in the Department of Education at Trinity University in San Antonio, TX. She teaches courses in child and adolescent development and nature and well-being. She is part of an interdisciplinary research team studying the effects of natural environments on college student well-being and completed her Forest Therapy Guide Certification in 2021 through the ANFT. Previously, she served as Director of Certification and Assessment and Director of the Middle Grades Master of Arts in Teaching program. She has also served on the Faculty Senate and is currently Vice-Chair of the University Curriculum Council. Prior to her arrival at Trinity, she taught middle and high school English and social studies. Allen received her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction, with an emphasis in adolescent development, from the University of Arkansas. Also from UA, she holds a M.Ed. in English Education and a B.S.E. in English and history.
