Kia ora Katoa – Welcome All!
I am a certified Nature and Forest Therapy guide mentor and trainer, contracting to Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides. Since training with founder M Amos Clifford in May 2015, I have pioneered my ‘Nature Bathing’ practice – taking Forest Therapy out of the ‘forest’ and onto the beaches and estuaries of my off-grid home on Aotea Great Barrier Island, NZ - these magnificent places that are my beautiful and rugged 'front yard'. I have been working as a mentor and trainer of Forest Bathing guides since 2016 and it has been a profound personal journey.
I was born in Bath UK in 1958 and relocated to Aotearoa NZ in 1985, and feel blessed to have both a motherland and a homeland I feel deeply connected to. I have worn many hats throughout my life and in my small local community as mother of 3 children, grandmother of x 3 little boys, flower essence practitioner, youth programs manager, teacher of neurodiverse children, holistic life coach, networker, choir leader and sacred space holder. I am founder of Aotea Eldering – an open group for all ages - and founding trustee of Building Flourishing Community Aotea.
I am a passionate Nature Lover with a deep connection to this land and the ocean and offer myself in service to helping others reconnect and stay connected wherever they are. I offer private Nature retreats at my beachfront homestay, WaiOra Beach Retreat, and guided ‘Wellbeing Wanders’ to all who need to re-engage and reconnect with Life. My work is informed by my personal journey with chronic health issues and my rich, colourful and often challenging life. I really love to guide and to witness others as we slow down, connect with our senses and discover the many secrets and magic unfolding all around us. I am also passionate about my work as a mentor and trainer, supporting others on their journeys to wholeness. I listen and lead with my heart and my soul and my deep love for Nature and for connecting with that sense of belonging we all yearn for deep in our hearts.
I commit to building resilient and sustainable community both locally and globally through my work, especially in the Australasia/Pacifica region. I hold the story that reconnection with Nature is the future pathway for the Wellbeing of all people and the restoration of this planet we share with the More than Human world.
