Saskatchewan, Canada
Tracey was born in small town Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, raised in Calgary, Alberta, and then moved to various parts of Canada, such as Ontario and BC, including many years in Vancouver, but went back to Saskatchewan because of her love of the prairies. The grasslands and living skies hold a special place in her heart.
The first images that come to her mind when thinking of all the places she lived are always the places in nature. Wherever she was, it was being out in nature that made her feel welcome and at home. It's nature that helps her when she struggles with stress and it's nature that comforts her during times of grief. It's also where she experiences great joy, seeing the immense beauty, breathing in the fresh air, soaking up the sun or the rain, and seeing a beautiful eagle flying overhead or Pronghorn running through the field.
It's this love of nature that brought her on the path of nature & forest therapy and led her to taking the guide certification course through the ANFT (Association of Nature & Forest Therapy). It built on the other teachings in her life such as earth-based spirituality, ecopsychology, and the study of biophilic design, helping bring nature into the design of spaces, which is part of her day job working in the architecture and interior design industry.
Through her studies with the ANFT, she learned how to guide people in nature in a way that is exploratory and unexpected. She is there to open the door for people to experience their own way of interacting with nature. There are many beautiful parks and trails throughout Saskatchewan and bringing people to these places makes her heart full.
Her learning is never done and she knows nature still has much more to teach her but she is, as always, ready for the adventure.
