Sarah Pickard Claimed

Lazy River Forest Therapy was founded by Sarah Pickard in 2023 after beginning her initial training with ANFT.  Sarah was an educator for 20 years and is a Reiki Master with a private practice for 15 years.  Sarah worked at the Center for Cancer Care providing Reiki to patients for 5 years.  She also manages Lazy River Playground and Retreat Center with her partner.

Sarah was inspired to do Forest Therapy professionally after being diagnosed with breast cancer about midway through her ANFT training.  The supportive community and the practice of Forest Therapy soothed her soul and helped heal her body.  Growing up with a science teacher father, Sarah was intrigued by the science supporting Forest Therapy and combining the science with the practice led to the birth of Lazy River Forest Therapy.  Sarah knew she was being called to share this practice with others on the trails at Lazy River Playground and Retreat Center.

Lazy River Forest Therapy offers public and private walks, combination sessions with Reiki and Forest Therapy, and Forest Bathing Retreats.
