Melissa Hammon is a Forest Therapy Guide certified by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy and a Naturalist certified through the University of California Environmental Stewards program. Based in Sacramento County, California, she guides forest therapy walks in the local area and into the serene landscapes of the El Dorado National Forest.
Growing up in the small Sierra Nevada foothills town of Paradise, California, Melissa developed a deep connection to nature from an early age, nurtured by family camping trips and a lifelong love of the outdoors. These experiences inspired a passion for sharing nature with others to foster a sense of reciprocity and mutual care between people and the more-than-human world.
As a guide, Melissa creates opportunities for participants to reconnect with their senses and rediscover their innate connection to nature. She believes that humans are a part of nature — not separate from it — and that by embracing this truth, we can begin to heal both ourselves and the world around us.
Melissa welcomes individuals and groups of all backgrounds to join her walks, creating a space where everyone can slow down, tune in, and experience the profound gifts that nature has to offer.
