Biography
My parents instilled in me, a love of doing things in nature. We would spend Sunday afternoons exploring the woods of southwest Michigan, lifting up logs to look for salamanders, cross country skiing in the Allegan forest, or fishing for perch in Lake Michigan. When I became an adult I developed a host of ailments that stemmed from anxiety and stress. I spent the last 30 years trying to figure out why I felt sick all the time and how to stop it. I sought relief through traditional medicine, nutrition, yoga, meditation, psychotherapy, self-help books, you name it. As my body accumulated more symptoms, I kept searching for answers and was willing to try ANYTHING that might give me a glimmer of hope of feeling better.
I created Nourish Nature Connection because what I have experienced in nature is too precious to keep to myself. I decided to train as a forest therapy guide so I would have the tools needed to express what I have been feeling and how I have healed when I spend time in the woods. Once I learned the tools of the practice, I realized that I could help others and it became my calling.
