I am a native Mainer who spent my childhood summers in a tent enjoying the Maine woods camping, fishing, and chasing fireflies. My connection to the great outdoors led me warm my bachelor’s degree in Park Management with a focus in Natural and Cultural Interpretation. After college, I worked for both state and local parks educating travelers about the natural surroundings. I ran an adventure based aspirations program for middle school students until 2010. I moved with my family to Pennsylvania. I spent 12 years working for The Lodge at Woodloch a destination spa. During this time I earned my Nature Therapy Guide certification. In 2018 I furthered my skills and knowledge with a four day immersion in Colorado. My passion and belief in the philosophy of Forest Therapy allowed me to lead the forest bathing program at The Lodge at Woodloch (and as a leader among destination spa’s around the world) since 2015. Currently I am an Environmental Education Specialist for the commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Some of my personal interests in the outdoors are fishing and making maple syrup. I have made maple syrup every spring for almost 20 years. I spent 12 years making maple syrup commercially in Maine. I love to spend time in the winter snowshoeing and ice fishing. Twelve years ago I learned the art of fly fishing and spent many hours Tenkara fishing, it’s a Japanese style of fly fishing. I also have a deep interest in geocaching and gardening. I am extremely fortunate to have spent my career sharing my passion of the outdoors others.
