Some people find their way to the forest through crisis. Others through curiosity. Dr. Joni Turville got there through both.
After long periods of stress, sleepless nights, and a mind that wouldn't shut off, her research became deeply personal. Over time, she discovered that when she stepped outside and slowed down, something larger than her to-do list got her attention.
That insight, lived first, then studied, is the foundation of her work.
Joni is an ANFT-Certified Nature & Forest Therapy Guide and transformational coach based in Edmonton, Alberta, a city with incredible green space everywhere. It turns out you don't have to go far to go deep.
Research backs what the body already knows. Time in nature lowers cortisol, sharpens attention, and quietly rebuilds what our busy lives numb us to. What guided forest bathing participants comment on most is how quickly something inside them shifts. The nervous system doesn't need much convincing. People leave guided experiences with a sense of peace and a greater sense of self.
Her favourite part of guiding is witnessing the moments when overthinking quiets and is replaced with curiosity. People discover what's unfolding around them and within them.
Her company, Wild Transformation, serves individuals, organizations, and anyone seeking a way to avoid burnout and to just be. Seasonal offerings and private bookings available at wildtransformation.ca.
