Guide Details

Merrickville, Ontario, Canada

Ann is a passionate lover of all things connected with place.  An historian by training, she loves to delve into the past to understand the present of wherever she find herself.  For the last ten years she has been mentoring emerging professionals in the field of local history and expanding her own knowledge of all things environmental in her community.

Ann is a certified Forest Therapy Guide (Association of Nature and Forest Therapy) and has been guiding in the Eastern Ontario region since 2020.

In addition to forest therapy/forest bathing, Ann is also a natural dyer and maintains a native plant garden where she works in partnership with the land to create a local colour palette from what is on offer throughout the seasons.

Whether in her garden, or elsewhere, she pursues her practice of mindful birding -- another nature connection practice which she likes to share with others.

Ann welcomes the opportunity to guide you on the unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabe People in the wonderful mixed forest that is the Great Lakes - St. Lawrence Forest.
